How much emissions do China really produce?

Although China is the leading country in terms of carbon ambitions. They also lead the way with the largest population in the world with over 1.42B citizens (over 4x the population of the USA), So although China make over 29% of total carbon emissions, they are not even in the top 40, most polluting countries per capita. With the USA omitting more than double the amount and countries like Norway, Finland and Canada all rank above them for CO2 emissions per capita. with china producing 7.2 tonnes per persons and the USA producing 16.5 tonnes per persons (stats taken from the BBC).

However China still do have the largest CO2 emissions in the world and are not looking to reduce this anytime soon as they have set plans to open 3 new billion dollar coal mines with a combined cost of over $4 Billion.
